How soon can we get married?

Did you know that once you’ve made the decision to get married, you can do it within 30 days! Some people may need a little longer but it’s possible.

The official paperwork required by law is the Notice of Intent to Marry, this must be completed with your Celebrant no less than 1 month prior to the BIG day. But if you are ready and want to jump right in, we are too!

One of our recent couples attended a Wedding Expo on a whim and decided after 10 magical years together, “Why not?”. They moved quick, booked a gorgeous venue in Brisbane and sent the Save the Dates! With a couple of months notice they weren’t sure how many people would RSVP…. but to their surprise EVERYONE did. It was a celebration which brought travellers from the US, New Zealand and all of Australia to witness this fabulous moment.

How do you pick your Celebrant?

Picking a person to marry you is a BIG deal, not only are they going to facilitating the most important contract you sign but they will be the setting the tone for your event. There are the Top 5 considerations we find best to help you find the RIGHT person for you.

Take a look at their previous weddings. Most Celebrants have a “show-reel” of their ceremony highlights, this is great way to check their style of presenting matches what you are looking for.
Check their availability. It’s busier than ever in the Wedding world, so this should be first in your list of questions so you are not disappointed if they are already booked.
Will their prices suit your budget? This is an important question, check the inclusions and make sure you are comfortable with the packaged price.
Talk with your Celebrant Give them a clear indication of what you would like and make sure they be able to provide all of your desired inclusions.
Finally, remember you have the final say on your Celebrant. Although some venues have “preferred” Celebrants, you are always able to incorporate a Celebrant you have found independently and want to book

How do we pick our Wedding Ceremony Music?

Not sure which song to pick and how many you will need? There are some special moments you will want to have your own soundtrack for. Remember these moments are for you two and should reflect your love, or a special memory for you both.

Some things to consider:
For your ceremony it’s great to have a 30-45 mins playlist for the “pre-ceremony”, this will help to set the mood and gives some ambience whilst your guests are arriving.
Entrance songs for the Bridal Party can be a different song than the Bride’s entrance. This is becoming more popular in recent weddings.
Prepare 2-3 songs to be played while you sign the official documents. It will allow your guests to chat amongst themselves while your Celebrant gets all the signatures signed and sealed the deal.
Then its time for your Exit song- One to kick off as soon as you have your first KISS
